Memorandum to Players

 

FORMAT & CUT INFORMATION
This championship is a three-day 72-hole stroke play competition. The field will be cut after 36 holes to the low 40 players and ties.

PAIRINGS

Pairings for Rounds 1 & 2 will be available and emailed to players on Wednesday, August 1st. If you have a tee time request (AM/PM or PM/AM for R1/RD), we will do our best to accommodate you, but you must email it to Ryan Doyle at rdoyle@nysga.org.

 

REGISTRATION
It is requested that players register in-person at Irondequoit on Monday, August 6. At registration players will receive important information for the event, receive their tee gift, and have their profile picture taken for online scoring.

 

If a player cannot register in person on Monday, please register by calling Deb Spilman, NYSGA Administrative Assistant, at (315) 471-6979.


PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available on Monday, August 6. Tee times may be scheduled through the championship website beginning on Friday, July 20. Instructions to schedule a practice round will be emailed to the field prior to this date. DO NOT CALL Irondequoit to schedule a practice round for August 6th.

 

CADDIES
A player may provide his own caddie. No caddies are available through the host club. All caddies will be required to use an NYSGA bib during practice and competition rounds. Bibs can be checked out at the NYSGA office located at the club (license deposit is required).


RANGE

The range will be provided complimentary to players and available each morning starting at 6:00am.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of carts during the practice or competition rounds is prohibited.

FOOD SERVICE

The club's halfway house will be open throughout the week (cash only).

 

ON-COURSE WATER & SNACKS

Water bottles and fruit/snacks will be provided on the golf course for players/caddies only.

 

CONTESTANT LUNCHES

Lunch will be provided for all contestants on Tuesday, Wednesday 11:00am until 3:00pm. Contestants must check-in at the registration table at lunch to receive this complimentary meal. Lunch will be served in the Irondequoit clubhouse.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION AND LOCAL RULES

Listed below are several important Conditions of Competition and Local Rules for this competition.

  • Notice to Competitors: Please check your starting tee for the Notice to Players and NYSGA Hard Card.
  • Conforming Clubs and Balls: Visit the USGA website (www.usga.com) for a list of approved golf balls and drivers for the competition.
  • Distance Measuring Devices: Are permitted.
  • One Ball Rule: The “One Ball Rule” will not be in effect.

DRESS CODE

The NYSGA will strictly enforce a tournament dress code with no exceptions. Collared shirts/mock turtle necks are required, and no jeans, denim, jogging outfits, or sweat pants are permitted.

 

PLAYER CONDUCT

Players and/or their guests must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner at all times. Any excessive display of anger, vulgar language, club throwing, alcohol abuse, illegal drug use, lack of golfing etiquette or disrespect to a fellow player or any other individual may be grounds or disqualification from any tournament. The NYSGA reserves the right to revoke a player's tournament entry, without a refund, at any time for conduct deemed inappropriate or damaging to the NYSGA.
